Frequently Asked Questions

What is the JEE Main photo size in KB?

NTA requires the JEE Main photo to be between 10KB and 200KB in JPEG format. The recommended pixel size is 413x531 pixels (3.5cm x 4.5cm at 300 DPI).

Can I use the same photo for JEE and NEET?

Yes, if the photo meets both sets of requirements (same for NTA exams) and was taken recently. Just make sure the file is within the 10KB to 200KB range and dimensions are correct.

What happens if I upload the wrong photo for JEE Main?

NTA may reject your application during scrutiny or ask you to re-upload the photo during the correction window. In serious cases of mismatch between the uploaded photo and the exam hall appearance, candidates can be barred from the exam center.

Is there a photo correction window in JEE Main?

NTA usually opens a short correction window after the initial registration. However, relying on this is risky. Always upload the correct photo during the first submission.

Should the JEE photo background be pure white or light grey is okay?

NTA guidelines specifically say white background. In practice, very light off-white or cream is usually accepted, but plain white is always the safest choice.
